PowerLedger is an informational, educational, and market-intelligence platform operated by SparkWise B.V. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data when you use our platform.

1. Who We Are

PowerLedger is operated by SparkWise B.V., a company registered in the Netherlands. We are the data controller for personal data collected through the PowerLedger platform.

2. What Data We Collect

Account Information: Full name, email address, account role, membership tier, language preference, and login timestamps.

Application & Subscription Information: Name, email, company name, country, phone number, user type, primary interest, plan selection, and consent records.

Usage & Platform Data: Watchlist items, portfolio positions, decision logs, simulated trades, scenario inputs, alert settings, and custom RSS/API data sources.

Payment Data: Payment processing is handled exclusively by Mollie. We do not store credit card numbers or sensitive payment credentials. We store your Mollie Customer ID and Subscription ID as references.

Technical & Log Data: Browser type, device information, session tokens, and platform error logs.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your data exclusively to create and manage your account, process subscription applications and payments, deliver platform features, send transactional emails, provide customer support, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, and improve platform stability.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

4. RSS / API Data Sources

If you configure custom RSS feeds or API data sources, connection URLs and field mapping configurations are stored in your account. API credentials are stored as encrypted references — raw keys are never displayed after entry. Data fetched from your sources is processed on our servers and cached temporarily.

5. Cookies & Local Storage

PowerLedger uses minimal browser storage:

• Authentication session: A secure session token to keep you logged in.
• Language preference: Your selected language saved in localStorage.
• Onboarding state: Whether you have completed first-time onboarding.

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or third-party analytics cookies.

6. Data Retention

Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, personal data is removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Application records and consent logs are retained for a minimum of 3 years. Payment-related records may be retained for up to 7 years per EU accounting requirements.

7. Data Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS encrypted). API credentials are stored encrypted. Role-based access control ensures admin data is only accessible to authorised staff. All admin actions are logged in an immutable audit trail. Payment processing is delegated entirely to Mollie.

8. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the EEA or UK, you have the following rights:

• Right of access: Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you.
• Right to rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Right to erasure: Request deletion of your personal data.
• Right to restrict processing: Ask us to limit how we use your data.
• Right to data portability: Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
• Right to object: Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
• Right to withdraw consent: Withdraw any consent given at any time.

9. International Data Transfers

PowerLedger is operated from the Netherlands (EU). Your data may be processed by infrastructure providers operating in the EU and Netherlands. Where data is transferred outside the EEA, appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with GDPR requirements.

10. Third-Party Services

PowerLedger integrates with Mollie (payment processing) and public financial data APIs (Finnhub, FRED, CoinGecko, GDELT). No personal user data is sent to data providers.

11. Children's Privacy

PowerLedger is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email or a prominent in-app notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
